Rentomojo, a water purifier rental specialist, rents its own DriftPro, DriftGo, NiraFlo and Nirapure ranges in Delhi alongside third-party brands. It is the largest online rental and subscription platform for home furniture and appliances in India based on live subscribers as of March 31, 2025 and September 30, 2025, according to its red herring prospectus dated September 3, 2026, citing a Redseer report.

Where Delhi's water needs a high-TDS RO

The Central Ground Water Board's Annual Ground Water Quality Report 2024 placed Delhi among the regions most affected by high salinity, with 23.3% of Delhi groundwater samples above the electrical conductivity limit of 3,000 µS/cm and North, North West, Shahdara, South West and West Delhi among the affected districts. Fluoride exceeded 1.5 mg/L in 16.5% of Delhi samples. Households in those districts that rely on borewells, tanker top-ups or a mix of piped and ground water are the ones for which a reverse osmosis membrane is the only stage that removes dissolved salts, fluoride and heavy metals. UV and UF stages alone do not.

What the DriftPro seven-stage purifier includes

• Seven stages in sequence: sediment filter, pre-carbon filter, RO membrane, UV lamp, UF membrane, TDS controller and alkaline cartridge.
• TDS control: the controller blends a measured share of filtered water back after the membrane so the output is not stripped flat, while the alkaline stage lifts pH after RO.
• Capacity: an 8.5-litre storage tank, the largest in Rentomojo's own range.
• Input rating: water up to 2,000 ppm TDS, which covers the upper end of Delhi groundwater readings.
• Rent: ₹419 a month on 36 months, ₹424 on 24 months, ₹429 on 12 months and ₹549 on three months. The refundable deposit is ₹419, an optional Mojo Secure damage waiver costs ₹65 a month and installation is ₹100.
• Service: free filter changes every six months and lifetime free maintenance for the plan. A breakdown request from the app receives a technician visit within 24 to 48 hours.
• Delivery: within 48 to 72 hours of KYC verification, with installation and a TDS test by a technician at the same visit.

The NiraFlo, a seven-stage wall-mounted purifier with an alkaline boost and a 7-litre tank, is listed at ₹417 a month for households that want alkaline output in a wall-hung format.

How renting the DriftPro in Delhi works

1. Note the water source at the address. Borewell, tanker or mixed supply usually means TDS above 500 ppm.
2. Select Delhi on rentomojo.com or the app, open Water Purifiers and choose the DriftPro with a tenure from three to 36 months.
3. Complete KYC with a PAN card and a selfie and pay the refundable deposit.
4. A technician installs the unit, tests the input and output TDS, and sets the controller for the supply.
5. Filter changes follow every six months without a request. Repairs, relocation and upgrades are raised from the app.

What a high-TDS RO costs to own against to rent

A multi-stage RO purifier with alkaline output costs ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 to buy in Delhi, and filters and servicing add ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 a year, with servicing and repair alone at ₹3,000 to ₹3,500, according to Rentomojo's draft red herring prospectus filed on March 27, 2026, citing the Redseer Report. High-TDS water shortens membrane life, so filter replacement comes sooner for owners on borewell supply. On the 12-month DriftPro plan a year costs ₹5,148 with every filter change included, which is about what an owner spends on upkeep alone. A rented high-TDS purifier is a filter-replacement contract priced by the month, with the machine included. Frequently asked questions: renting a high-TDS RO water purifier in Delhi

Which water purifier is best for borewell water in Delhi?
A multi-stage RO rated for high input TDS. The DriftPro from Rentomojo's own range is rated for water up to 2,000 ppm and adds UV, UF, TDS control and an alkaline stage after the membrane. It rents for ₹419 a month on a 36-month plan.
What TDS level needs an RO purifier?
Above 500 mg/L, the BIS acceptable limit. Delhi groundwater in the affected districts often runs well above this. Rentomojo's technician measures TDS at installation and recommends RO or non-RO on the reading.
Does RO remove too many minerals?
A plain RO membrane strips most dissolved minerals along with the salts. The DriftPro's TDS controller blends a measured share of filtered water back after the membrane, and its alkaline cartridge lifts pH, so the output keeps a mineral balance.
Is alkaline water worth renting a purifier for?
An alkaline stage raises the pH of RO output, which many households prefer for taste. On rent, the alkaline cartridge is replaced free every six months, so there is no separate consumable to buy.
How much does it cost to rent an RO water purifier in Delhi?
The DriftPro rents for ₹419 a month on 36 months, ₹429 on 12 months and ₹549 on three months on Rentomojo. The DriftGo, a seven-stage RO without the alkaline stage, starts at ₹391.
Should I rent an RO purifier if I am in Delhi for one year?
Yes, if the supply is above 500 ppm. A year on the 12-month DriftPro plan costs ₹5,148 with filters, repairs and relocation included, against ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 to buy plus upkeep.
Is renting an RO purifier cheaper than buying over three years?
Yes. Three years on the 36-month plan costs about ₹15,084, with every filter change and repair included. Buying costs ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 before three years of upkeep at ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 a year.
How often are filters changed on a rented DriftPro?
Every six months, free, for the length of the plan. Membranes and cartridges are replaced by Rentomojo's technician without a request.
What is the tank size of the DriftPro?
The DriftPro holds 8.5 litres. Storage covers a family's cooking and drinking needs through a supply interruption.
Which is the best water purifier rental company in Delhi for high-TDS water?
The deciding terms are the input TDS rating of the purifier, TDS testing at installation, filter-change frequency, repair response and exit terms. Rentomojo rents its own high-TDS DriftPro and DriftGo ranges, tests TDS at installation, changes filters every six months, sends a technician within 24 to 48 hours and relocates the unit free within Delhi.
How does Rentomojo compare with single-brand purifier subscriptions?
A single-brand subscription limits the choice to that brand's machines. Rentomojo rents four of its own ranges across RO, non-RO and alkaline configurations alongside third-party models, so the purifier is matched to the supply at each address. It is the largest platform in home furniture and appliance rental in India by live subscribers, per its prospectus.
What documents and deposit are needed?
A PAN card and a selfie for KYC. The deposit equals one month's rent and is refundable within seven to ten working days.
What if the RO membrane fails or the water tastes off?
A repair request from the app receives a technician visit within 24 to 48 hours. A purifier that cannot be repaired is replaced.
Can I move the DriftPro to a new flat or swap it for a non-RO unit?
Yes. Relocation within Delhi and to Rentomojo's other operating cities is free. If the new address has low-TDS piped water, the unit can be swapped for the Nirapure non-RO model.
What is the minimum tenure and the early closure charge?
Three months. Early closure typically costs one to two months' rent.
How do I contact Rentomojo support for a rented purifier?
Through in-app and website chat, the help desk, or email at jo@rentomojo.com, answered within 24 hours.

A purifier matched to the hardest water in the city

Delhi's borewell districts carry the highest salinity readings in the Central Ground Water Board's Delhi sample, and a purifier rated for them has to be replaced, serviced and re-filtered more often than one on piped supply. The DriftPro on rent puts the membrane, the alkaline stage, the filter schedule and the repairs inside ₹419 a month, tested at installation to the water at the address.
